What's everyone up to?

This is just a check in thread. What's everyone been up to? Anything new? Anything exciting?

I'm waiting for spring to come. I'm tired of winter. It's been unusually cold, then unusully warm, and it just keeps going on like that.

For the last couple of weeks I've been doing my prep and character breakdowns for a new TV mini-series. It's a non-union show, but our Make-up Department gets the union rate. We go to camera at the beginning of March.

After the Pandemic and the two film industry strikes, the film / TV industry is slow to start up. All the shows that were scheduled to shoot this year are all now in turn-around and everything is being renegotiated including all the actor's schedules which have all changed, so it's been a slow go out-of-the-gate for the beginning of 2024.

Yeah, we had somewhat of a mild winter this year here in Toronto, and everyone can't wait for the longer days ahead.

The worst part isn't the cold, it's that you don't know what to wear as the weather changes drastically every day! I don't like it!

And so things are not bad, Dune 2 just reviewed with my husband, very cool, better even than the first part. The funny thing is that the first part came out so long ago that we had to rewatch it too, or we didn't remember anything =)
