Hair Brushes

I'm wondering how often hair brushes need to be changed. Are there any rules on this? or just dump it when the bristles start breaking? Thanks!

I've haven't heard what the time limit is when a hairbrush needs to be changed but I change mine whenever my brush just doesn't seem to do it's job or it doesn't look good anymore.

Paddle brushes (wide and flat) are good brushes to use for long hair.
