Hey Irish, cocoa is pretty. I have beige shimmer. Do you normally wear lighter colored lipsticks or darker ones? I'm asking because I want to know if cocoa goes on dark. Btw I really LOVE their new one. It's worth it.

It's just like high end and last a long time. Besides, it goes great with the English Ideas Lip Enhance.

It's ok..not much of an Avon fan but I love these lipsticks too..They discontinued my favorite shade in this but I'm stock piled for a while..It was called Earthstone..Gorgeous color

Hi Kitty..Politely sticking my nose into answer you..Having tried the Beige shimmer(but sadly not being able to pull it off),I'd say it's not quite med. but it isn't light either..It's right on the cusp.
 
Thanks Allisong! Sounds like I could probably pull this off since it's not too light. I can wear Nars Viva Las Vegas w/out a problem and that sounds lighter than Beige Shimmer.

Isn't the gloss a separate application than the lipstick discussed? The lipstick itself is excellent - but I can understand the gloss being goopy. As for either Avon or MAC, I don't really care for any sticky gloss, though. Neither does my husband.

The color lasted about an hour and the gloss look was extremely thick and sticky, I personally wouldn't recommend this line of lipstick but I would recommend the mac line, it is the perfect gloss for an average look in the daytime. Although it might be a bit more expensive than this line, it is well worth the money. I am sure that she would like MAC better too. The Avon retinol line does have some benefits though. First off, the color (beige shimmer) is so light and pretty. It also exfoliates lips and leaves a super light shine for those who do not like lips to be too gunky. It is more like a lipstick than a gloss. It is also about three or four times less expensive than MAC. There's no beating the quality of MAC, but I have to give kudos to a line that doesn't imitate, it just offers a nice alternative with extra perks. It plumps up lips just a tad too! That's the best

I suppose it's a matter of opinion..I love MAC l/s and am not usually an Avon fan..but I think the Beyond Color plumping lipsticks are great..I think you maybe confusing the Beyond Color l/s with Avon's long wearing lipstick which I'll happily agree stinks..
