What do you think about these Mary Jane wedges? Cute with jeans? ... or ugly with anything? Like/dislike?

Perhaps cute with this outfit:

??????

I think they look like the shoes i used to wear for school in 1978 lol. They would look good with faded jeans and a tassle belt and a denim jacket for a boho look or with a long hippy skirt. But i dont really like em, i would wear them in purple but not brown.

Hi Cali, I like the outfit and think you would look hot in it. I have never worn or liked wedges. Honestly speaking I tried some on in a store and have difficulty walking in them. They are not a flattering shoe. Had these been a regular pump heal (as in the picture) then they would not look so bad.

My Grandma has a pair of orthopedic shoes that looked rather like these..Very classy....just perfect for an evening of bridge with the rest of the blue hair set

i dont particularly care for the outfit or the shoes. my taste is pretty out there, but ive noticed that its recently "mainstreamed" out a bit. however.......babe, those shoes are vile. jmo, of course. im not a fan of wedgies, but i do love mary janes. those arent a cute pair. the detail is really busy, and they look kind of like a pair of those "dressy" sneakers that were popular a few years ago were combined with a dirndl heidi skirt.

Thanks all. I have always loved funky shoes. I like wedges or heels bec I am short, but I'd love to get used to wearing flats. When I put on a little height, I feel more confident. But oh.. wouldnt' it be great to be just ok the way I am!

I was debating the shoes because I thought with a long pair of jeans, you could only see the front, brown part of the shoe. However, I have super ecclectic taste in shoes but that doesn't mean I do not like normal ones too. My favs are thongs! LOL.

I don't have any particular style nailed down, I mostly just where what I like, what feels like "me" and what I think is most flattering.

I love the jeans in the pic too.

Thanks all for the opinions on the shoes!

P.S. If anyone would like to post some shoes that they think are cute or that they would like opinions on, I think that'd be fun.

Here's a few pairs that I like just for fun:

i've always worn shoes like these, until one day someone said to me, do you have polio or something. is that why you where those shoes?

I've just bought these:

They look really uncomfortable, but actually they're probably the comfiest pair I own!

I like them, I like the outfit, the question is, are they comfy? I work 8 hours a day and I'm always on my feet so I really like cute and comfy shoes, which are really hard to find. I saw some though, at DSW in black.

I grew up when everyone wore wedges, and I had lots of outrageous pairs that I bought from The Wild Pair in the late 70s and early 80s.

Those aren't my style, but if you like them, get them. One thing you might want to consider though is the suede on the wedge. I don't think it's very pratical. You'll have to be careful getting in and out of cars, etc., or else you might nick the suede or even put a tear in it.

Since we're on the topic of Mary Janes, I just bought a pair of Marc Jacobs 'updated' Mary Janes. They're comfortable, but I'm still learning how to walk in them-- they're so high! Californian, if you like Mary Janes, maybe try these instead if you're not satisfied with the brown wedges.
