Anyone ever use pheromone oils??? Just wondering if everything I've heard about them is true. Like is it really that different from fragrant oils and does it really affect how people act or react to you?

I've worn Realm perfume, which is said to contain pheromones. But that was years ago, and honestly I couldn't tell ya now if it worked! lol

i think the whole phermones attracting people is a load of crap, but i guess they really do have an influence if youre already being intimate. at that point, arent your own pheromones enough?

heres an interesting article:

heres an article i happened upon regarding how pheromones prove that god intended for humans to be heterosexual.

this article completely sidesteps the studies about gay men reacting to pheromones in the same way as straight women (tell that to any gay man and watch him get huffy.) but i digress. i just found it interesting, so heres an article on that:

I used that perfume too and did nothing. Only my female friends kept complimenting on how nice I smelled...

I don't think it does anything, just another money trap!

Ok, I know this isn't exactly the same thing, but...

I work at a vet clinic and we carry pheromone products for dogs and cats. They are used for pets that are exhibiting anxiety or destructive behavior. It is in the form of a spray, or a plug-in diffuser (like an air freshener) that releases the pheromones into the environment. These really work. They bring about feelings of calm, security, well-being, and familiarity. The animal is less likely to engage in the unwanted behavior. I use them myself b/c when I got a new kitten, my other cats got really upset and started peeing in the house, marking their territory. The pheromones really worked to stop this. At work, I have heard from clients who used the dog version, b/c their dog would go crazy when they left the house and literally chew/dig through doors and was destroying the house trying to get outside. The pheromones helped immensely. We always try the pheromone product first, it doesn't always work but it is good to try that (combined with training/discipline) before resorting to medication.

So...I think there is something to this for humans too. But I haven't personally heard from someone who tried it. I would think the effect, if any, would be subtle, not an overpowering lusty desire!

Interesting articles!!!

I've use Marilyn Miglin's pheromone perfume, body cream, & talc powder I bought from HSN (a set) -its really nice, I like it...the scent lasts all day long into the night...I do get plenty of compliments when I wear it, but nothing like any animal magnetism (by no means)- I mean, No Guy is trying to hump my leg or anything ~ it is an unusual fragrance, not sweet or floral...its just different. - hard to explain - its kinda potent when you first put it on, but as the day goes by, your body chemistry breaks it down somewhat, so it smells different on everyone :icon_love ...so thats where I think the compliments come from, because its so unique....

I have heard of the effect of pheremones and how it plays a big part in sexual attraction. I definaltey agree that pheremone's like smells can and does affect the brain and can influence yourself and other's near you or each other.
