Hi, i would just like to ask you for advice on a skincare question, since i am in a dilema. What do you think about anti-aging products that work on a cellular level such as Sisley etc.I have been thinking about these ranges recently and although they are extremely expensive (more so than premium brands), i wonder if they are worth the extra money and perform at a deeper level with better results.

I have always used the usual brands of anti-aging skincare, such as Prescriptives, but now i am wondering if i should move on to these other high-tech skincare ranges which seem to be more advanced. Has anyone tried Sisely skincare? Should i make the investment?

Thanks.

I've tried some Sisley product samples and one cream I liked the best more than anything. I had a very good sample size of the Hydra Flash and it was a very very nice face cream. My skin loved it. The problem is the price $160. I never bought the actual product because of the price. I've used La Mer products before and they are comparable to Sisley as far as the price goes. I liked the products but I think they are overpriced. I think especially for a cleanser and toner I wouldn't spend the money. I don't think it makes sense to spend that much money on something that you rinse off the face. A face cream is a different story. To invest in a good face cream is a better investment I think because it stays on your skin all day. My mom used nice pricey creams for many many years and her skin looks awesome. She looks like a 20-year-old and she is in her 50s. She has no wrinkles. You might want to look into getting some samples first before spending that much money. I think you can get the same results with a little bit cheaper lines. I'm currently using Christian Dior No age line and it's a bit pricey but not as bad as the high priced lines. Some Lancome creams might even been worth looking into. Lately I've been looking into drugstore brands because a lot of the drugstore lines like Oil of Olay and Neutrogena have really nice skin care products I've come to find out. I'm not convinced anymore that spending all the money for expensive lines is really worth it. I'm starting to look into cheaper alternatives.

Hey there,

Here is some information that I found on Sisley skin care. I have not tried it myself, but I will try to provide you with some information that you can use.

Go to the following URL to see what strawberrynet has in the way of Sisley products. The products are very discounted and you can get a free makeup kit if you order through their Ebay store:

Clickhere for details.

Try a sample lot of Sisley products for $9.99 at this url:

Online Commentary on Sisley Products:

SISLEY

I have been using sisley product for a year and love it; however, it's so expensive. Does anyone know where to buy them cheap or which other product can be used to have the same effect like sisley?

HI..I am Sisley user myself but at times I alternate them either with darphin, I just ordered some Decleor's stuff coz I heard that they work quite magnificently on some person especially the oils. What SISLEY stuff you love the most?

I love sisleya elixir and global anti age...how about you??? btw, some of my friends said that i'm too young to use that two products that i just listed for you.

i love sisley too.

i like their ecological compound, which is supposed to stabilise your skin. then i put on decleor neroli oil. then yonka cream 52.

the only online place i know of is www.strawberrynet.com

I like their Ecological compound , the Hydra Flash ( use this occasionally only in the morning), don't like the Botanical Complex ( used this for 10 days as prescribed but it didn't do anything to my skin)..Have you tried their INTENSIVE NIGHT CREAM? I sampled the Global Anti age ( 5 ml and still have some left) but don't find it really show any dramatical improvement to my skin, but I just used very teensy bits , maybe I should use more...

Jccl...you mean you can use an oil ( decleor) after ECO?? I sometimes use Darphin's oil before my ECO ..I treat my eco as my night cream since it feel a bit rich on me ( though it absorbs well into the skin)....
smile.gif

oops, mix up in the post. i use the decleor oil to relax my face, then eco for its ginseng extract to revive my skin.

i dont really like the global anti-age, but the intensive night is quite nice. i've also the botanical complex. it doesnt appear to do anything but i notice the difference after i stop it after 10 days. i use it with the vit c clearing essence. i used to have dry skin, now i have combination skin. the SA is such a sweet talker - she said my skin has reverted to a younger state

i actually put more after the eco, coz i lack sleep and have a highly stressful lifestyle- read, late nights, cigarettes and alcohol- that i have to give my face some help thru a good night cream. have been trying yonka number 52, it seems alright but i think i still like the sisley's intensive night better. the sisleya eye cream is a tad too rich for me, got one milia after a week of use. perhaps i am using too much

i know what u mean. i use ECO every night (one pump per time) and it's hardly down by 3 cm. i have both eco and botanical complex for the purpose of helping my stressed skin. i used a sample of the intensive when i was first trying sisley out and was really happy with my skin. not sure if it is teh intensive night or combination with eco. i use decleor neroli b4 ECO on nights that i dont use the sisley vit c/clearing essence (which lasts me 7 days -and i do this once a month) this regime seems to give me good results. heals my skin... neroli calms and relaxes me (and my skin, i suppose).

oh, i can never go a week without skipping everything and just having neroli and essential balm for a night. another sisley must-have is the red clay mask, beautiful!

I have the red clay, use this mainly for a pick me up cum gently exfoliating mask. I actually prefer the Linden blossom mask coz you can use this on the eyes as well and it helps relax/purifies/brighten your skin. I bought the ECO last DEC and It is only down by 1 cm..gosh, so occasionally I slather this a lot on my neck even when I am not using this on the face.

Hm..Neroli sounds great...have you try the ROSE oil as well?

I am currently using Decleor Eye Serum which i got as a GWP from my purchases and i like it very much. I use it under my Sisley Sisleya Eye Cream .

I love rying out new products and keep moving on to new one. Sisley sisleya is not so effective in treating fine lines like it's claim. I have used it on top of my Decleor Serum and the result is quite good with using the two together.

Cellcosmet Eye Contour Cream

I got a sample of this cream from EDS. As I still have tons of eye creams and gels in my cabinet to try, I passed this to my mum.

Wow, the result was immediate on her (after using it only for a few days). Those lines around her eye areas seemed to have disappeared overnight (no kidding !! ) and she looks younger with lesser wrinkles around her eyes. The cream also help to "pump" up her droopy eye lips a little. She loves this cream so much and is considering getting it after she has finished with the sample.

I'm quite impressed with the Cellcosmet too. It's so light and sinks right in. And I can fully see why you're still on your first bottle Babs, I'm guessing the sample will last for quite some time! I'm thinking of getting that as the Christmas present from-me-to-me and the Murad Essencial-C Eye Cream SPF15 as the New Years present from-me-to-me

Sisley Global Anti-Age Cream- "It's my favourite product", so says model jerry hall.

"it's wonderful", sadie frost told a beauty mag.

so christmas 2001 i had the privilege (so i thought) of trying this.

to say this product is an anti-aging product is a bit misleading, it is a good moisturiser and that is it. the texture is nice, the smell is a bit off putting for me, the packaging was classy (but it's the stuff inside i'm interested in!), but after using it for 3 months it hasn?t done anything that a much cheaper brand would have done.

£150 for 50ml is a ridiculous amount to spend, for that price you'd expect to see a difference in skin which has to cope with central heating, winds etc.

i wish i would have known about this site or similar sites and maybe i would have read a review and thought twice about throwing £150 down the drain. Not worth it. Doesn't live up to the claims.

There ya have it. It's part marketing, part effectiveness, and part word of mouth that sells it. Not all people are be happy with it! My guess is that you can find a product that works just as well (same ingredients) for LESS!!!

Moisturizers make your fine lines and wrinkles LOOK BETTER. Thats it. Using more expensive lines over less expensive will do you NO difference. Theres are lots of very good low end skin care lines that will do just as good if not better than the high end lines. Which leads me to say, if you don't need to moisturize, don't do it. Sometimes a cleanser and a well formulated toner WITH ANTIOXIDANTS is all the moisturizing a person needs. (And of course a good sunscreen with the active ingredients to protect you from UVA/UVB sun rays).

Thanks everyone for your interesting replies! They have certainly given me some foods for thought. Reija, its good to know your mother has amazing skin, and Calafornia thanks for the interesting links. I will be sure to check them out and will certainly do more research before spending a fortune. Now i have some food for thought and something to go on. Thanksxx

Essential oils in a carrier oil or cream base may be the best way to heal tissue, feed them & prevent further damage or breakdown. Bulgarian lavendar is such an agent, emu, organc coconut, jojoba & camellia oils are excellent oils with or without the essential oils added in. Our skin is both a releaser of toxins & an absorber of fuel. Our feelings, thoughts, hormones, metabolism all produce wastes & if we're not clearing out the trash, the engine & vehicle will show the wear & tear. It's not always easy to see where a negative feeling causes a reaction physically. The Chinese medical model has tremendous value & incorporates an understanding of the body/mind/spirit as a whole. While acupuncture is helpful (whether you believe in it or not it works) it's not necessary for everyone, just like vitamins & minerals are important, each body requirements differ due to heredity, stress, gender, age, nutrition, exercise, etc. And, topical applications differ in content & quality ingredients. It's not so much the label, price or texture as much as its' ability to give you results. I use organic crisco sometimes as a moisturizer, sometimes, Fanie Intl., other days coconut oil, or simply an herbal mist. Our bodies are not unlike a musical instrument - they need to be listened to, polished, tuned, greased, exercised, breathed & enjoyed. All of our experiences & opinions have value. Ultimately though, it's our willingness to be responsible for what we think, focus on, who we model, where we put ourselves & the outcome we want to aspire to.

Hi Gr8,

I found a lot of interesting info just by using search engines. Have had a 2 oz bottle for years & years...am almost out of it...it's cellular composition, similar to that of jojoba oil (bean family) & coconut oil (fruit family) & camellia oil (flower family) is also close to our own body oil structure & as such makes is more compatible & effective in healing scars from acne to burns, provides nutrients, minute factors that stimulate our collagen & plasma to heal faster & because it's like our atomic structure, can permeate our skin layers to the deeper levels where skin turnover is faster. Aloe is often used for healing burns because it provides not only healing stimulus, but additionally a barrier to exterior assault& allows the skin to come together rather seamlessly. It's also why, when used on the face, can cause breakouts bec. it blocks the pores from eliminating toxins. I've seen pictures of radical & speedy recoveries from burns (sun, fire, rug, pavement) using emu oil. I believe it works similarly to other nutritional supplements like shark cartilage, which helps our own mucopolysaccharide fluids between the joints stay flexible & moist, thus preventing arthritis. Emu oil can be taken internally, like fish oil, flaxseed, borage, evening primrose & cod liver oils. assists the liver & gall bladder like internal WD40 & emulsifies fat deposits, provides vitamins in a natural form that's sort of pre-digested & also balances hormones, cholesterols & other lipid (fat) processes. Often we use astringents on oily skin & have more breakouts, bec. by stripping all the oil, our glands sense a deficit & go into overdrive. There are drying & lubricating oils (like 'dry' & 'sweet' wines) & our skin needs some oil to prevent overproduction or to provide more when our hormones change (estrogen provides a balance, as does testosterone, progesterone, cortisone, & the wonderful precursor to all the above, pregnenolone). Emu oil has EFA, essential fatty acids like the aforementioned oils do & they all work in concert with different systems. Emu oil can be used as a carrier oil for essential oils like lavendar, rosemary, sage, neroli, chamomile, ylang ylang & rose for sensitive skin, hair, nails, etc. depending on the problem & where it is. Jojoba is used most often to assist in scalp & hair issues, dandruff, eczema, dryness, brittleness...it's the most like our skin oils there...but is also helpful on the face. Again, like food, we might like vegies one day, fruit the next, where's the beef another time & fish a few times a week. It isn't rocket science, but a little time with how one or another feels will let you know which you'll need at the time.

I'd like to try it for scars then. I scar very easily. Thanks for the thorough response. You are a walking encyclopedia of skin info! How much does a little bottle cost? Please tell me it's not $80.00!!

Does the oil come from the Emu monster?

And why is he so oily?

<-- Oily Emu, found in the deserts of S. Africa amongst the pythons who are must less oily.

Hey Cal - prices vary depending on quality, source, and size. Expect a 2 oz bottle to run between$12.00& $20.00. You can take it internally as well as topically. I understand I may run the risk of 'spamming' without meaning to regarding a few websites that have some awesome info that I've learned a lot from in addition to what I've picked up from Whole Foods market types, books, etc. Dr. Linda Rector Page, Dr. Sandra Cabot, Dr. Mercola, all have books & sites you can search engine for. Teresa Tapp has info archives that make research easier to understand & her workouts are unique, as are her skin repair suggestions. Good hunting.
