17 Reasons Not to Slit Your Wrists...by Michael Moore

Dear Friends,
Ok, it sucks. Really sucks. But before you go and cash it all in, let's, in the words of Monty Python, “always look on the bright side of life!” There IS some good news from Tuesday's election.

Here are 17 reasons not to slit your wrists:

1. It is against the law for George W. Bush to run for president again.
Yep, but don't forget Mr. Moore, that all that means is that he has succeeded and there we ill OTHERS who you don't like.
2. Bush's victory was the NARROWEST win for a sitting president since Woodrow Wilson in 1916. It was? I thought 2000 was the narrowest. In 2000, the difference between was 500,000 votes. In 2004 it was 4 millions votes............OH YOU MEANT "SITTING"....who cares. America spoke on election day despite of the Mike Moore loving exit polls and the biased media

3. The only age group in which the majority voted for Kerry was young adults (Kerry: 54%, Bush: 44%), proving once again that your parents are always wrong and you should never listen to them. Gee, this is a nice thing to say about PARENTS in general. Sheesh! Do you even have PARENTS? Why do they allow you to propagandize America? Maybe you need to leave.

4. In spite of Bush's win, the majority of Americans still think the country is headed in the wrong direction (56%), think the war wasn't worth fighting (51%), and don’t approve of the job George W. Bush is doing (52%). (Note to foreigners: Don't try to figure this one out. It's an American thing, like Pop Tarts.) Statement of the year: "In spite of Bush's win, the majority of Americans still think the country is headed in the wrong direction" Laff, I guess the polling places machine were broken with four million more voters voting for him.

5. The Republicans will not have a filibuster-proof 60-seat majority in the Senate. If the Democrats do their job, Bush won't be able to pack the Supreme Court with right-wing ideologues. Did I say "if the Democrats do their job?" Um, maybe better to scratch this one. LOL, yeah scratch this one since the DEMS align themselves with the extreme Hollywood and extremists like the AUTHOR of this article. I didn't see John Kerry once standing with Mike Moore. I am sure they will DISalign themselves with Hollywood wackos and idiotic people like Mr. Moore. Because at anyrete, did this alignment work? LAF

6. Michigan voted for Kerry! So did the entire Northeast, the birthplace of our democracy. So did 6 of the 8 Great Lakes States. And the whole West Coast! Plus Hawaii. Ok, that's a start. We've got most of the fresh water, all of Broadway, and Mt. St. Helens. We can dehydrate them or bury them in lava. And no more show tunes! "Ok, that's a start", LAFF...what about middle america? LOL The heartland of america spoke. INCLUDING UNIONS etc, who normal idiology is to vote with the left biased MEDIA. Teachers and Military, also gave thier opinions also, America Spoke.

7. Once again we are reminded that the buckeye is a nut, and not just any old nut -- a poisonous nut. A great nation was felled by a poisonous nut. May Ohio State pay dearly this Saturday when it faces Michigan State. "Once again we are reminded that the buckeye is a nut". Oh...this is nice to say about Ohioans. SHEESH!! GET A CLUE! Once again, we are ravished with intellectual banter from Mr. Moore. The big "L" comes to mind. I am sure they appreciate it, Mr. Moore. Once again, Ohio spoke with one voice.

8. 88% of Bush's support came from white voters. In 50 years, America will no longer have a white majority. Hey, 50 years isn't such a long time! If you're ten years old and reading this, your golden years will be truly golden and you will be well cared for in your old age. "America will no longer have a white majority". OMG!! Can someone say "Gee, what to say about whites when I am a big fat WHITE lier"

9. Gays, thanks to the ballot measures passed on Tuesday, cannot get married in 11 new states. Thank God. Just think of all those wedding gifts we won't have to buy now. Once again, Mr. Moore, can we pander a little more?

10. Five more African Americans were elected as members of Congress, including the return of Cynthia McKinney of Georgia. It's always good to have more blacks in there fighting for us and doing the job our candidates can't. Mike, what is your obsession with Blacks? Pandering to Blacks doesnt work, Mr. Moore, just ask John Kerry who didn't solicit blacks and lost MANY of thier votes. What the hell does this have to do with our PRESIDENT anynow?

11. The CEO of Coors was defeated for Senate in Colorado. Drink up! Once again, what the hell does this have to do with our PRESIDENT anynow? Well, ok, let me make the connection. Bush, once again, took the state of Colorado's 8 elctoral votes. Thanks Pete Coors!

12. Admit it: We like the Bush twins and we don't want them to go away. WTF is this? You LIKE THEM? Well, I guess I am missing something and it seems to be some more highly educated propaganda by Mr. Moore.

13. At the state legislative level, Democrats picked up a net of at least 3 chambers in Tuesday's elections. Of the 98 partisan-controlled state legislative chambers (house/assembly and senate), Democrats went into the 2004 elections in control of 44 chambers, Republicans controlled 53 chambers, and 1 chamber was tied. After Tuesday, Democrats now control 47 chambers, Republicans control 49 chambers, 1 chamber is tied and 1 chamber (Montana House) is still undecided. Ok, I'll give you the legistlative chambers...LOL. Let our hearts not be sad, the GOP, picked up FOUR more Senate seats and the DEMS lost FOUR. The country is showing that they are TIRED of some of the blowhards that the Senate had like Tom Daschle!

14. Bush is now a lame duck president. He will have no greater moment than the one he's having this week. It's all downhill for him from here on out -- and, more significantly, he's just not going to want to do all the hard work that will be expected of him. It'll be like everyone's last month in 12th grade -- you've already made it, so it's party time! Perhaps he'll treat the next four years like a permanent Friday, spending even more time at the ranch or in Kennebunkport. And why shouldn't he? He's already proved his point, avenged his father and kicked our ass. OMG, Mike...I do think that *IF* if you don't like this country and have so much to say about it, then DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YOUR FAT ASS ON THE WAY OUT. Can we say Party Time? LOL

15. Should Bush decide to show up to work and take this country down a very dark road, it is also just as likely that either of the following two scenarios will happen: a) Now that he doesn't ever need to pander to the Christian conservatives again to get elected, someone may whisper in his ear that he should spend these last four years building "a legacy" so that history will render a kinder verdict on him and thus he will not push for too aggressive a right-wing agenda; or B) He will become so cocky and arrogant -- and thus, reckless -- that he will commit a blunder of such major proportions that even his own party will have to remove him from office. "even his own party will have to remove him from office" What are you smoking? No, Mr. Moore, that was YOUR LAST President who thought they he was ABOVE THE LAW with his careless Lies under OATH and thought that was just "PEECHEE" to do. Let me remind you that Slick Willey was Impeached for his careless idiology and that he could just do whatever he wanted to do. The Bush Doctorine and the WAR, was APPROVED by congress, let's not forget! They read the SAME intellegence that he read, therefor approving the war.

16. There are nearly 300 million Americans -- 200 million of them of voting age. We only lost by three and a half million! That's not a landslide -- it means we're almost there. Imagine losing by 20 million. If you had 58 yards to go before you reached the goal line and then you barreled down 55 of those yards, would you stop on the three yard line, pick up the ball and go home crying -- especially when you get to start the next down on the three yard line? Of course not! Buck up! Have hope! More sports analogies are coming!!!
LOL Thanks for this educated response

17. Finally and most importantly, over 55 million Americans voted for the candidate dubbed "The #1 Liberal in the Senate." That's more than the total number of voters who voted for either Reagan, Bush I, Clinton or Gore. Again, more people voted for Kerry than Reagan. If the media are looking for a trend it should be this -- that so many Americans were, for the first time since Kennedy, willing to vote for an out-and-out liberal. The country has always been filled with evangelicals -- that is not news. What IS news is that so many people have shifted toward a Massachusetts liberal. In fact, that's BIG news. Which means, don't expect the mainstream media, the ones who brought you the Iraq War, to ever report the real truth about November 2, 2004. In fact, it's better that they don't. We'll need the element of surprise in 2008.

Feeling better? I hope so. As my friend Mort wrote me yesterday, "My Romanian grandfather used to say to me, 'Remember, Morton, this is such a wonderful country -- it doesn't even need a president!'"

But it needs us. Rest up, I'll write you again tomorrow.

Yours,

Michael Moore

My Final Response:
I sat in a movie theater watching "Schindler's List," asked myself, "Why didn't the Jews fight back?" Now I know why.

I sat in a movie theater, watching "Pearl Harbor" and asked myself, "Why weren't we prepared?"

Now I know why.

Civilized people cannot fathom, much less predict, the actions of evil people.

On September 11, dozens of capable airplane passengers allowed themselves to be overpowered by a handful of poorly armed terrorists because they did not comprehend the depth of hatred that motivated their captors.

On September 11, thousands of innocent people were murdered because too many Americans naively reject the reality that some nations are dedicated to the dominance of others. Many political pundits, pacifists and media personnel want us to forget the carnage. They say we must focus on the bravery of the rescuers and ignore the cowardice of the killers. They implore us to understand the motivation of the perpetrators. Major television stations have announced they will assist the healing process by not replaying devastating footage of the planes crashing into the Twin Towers.

I will not be manipulated.

I will not pretend to understand.

I will notforget.

I will not forget the liberal mediawho abused freedom of the press to kick our country when it was vulnerable and hurting.

I will not forget that CBS anchor Dan Rather preceded President Bush's address to the nation with the snide remark, "No matter how you feel about him, he is still our president."

I will not forget that ABC TV anchor Peter Jenningsquestioned President Bush's motives for not returning immediately to Washington, DC and commented, "We're all pretty skeptical and cynical about Washington."

And I will not forget that ABC's Mark Halperinwarned if reporters weren't informed of every little detail of this war, they aren't "likely -- nor should they be expected -- to show deference."

I will not isolate myselffrom my fellow Americans by pretending an attack on the USS Cole in Yemen was not an attack on the United States of America.

I will not forget the Clinton administration equipped Islamic terrorists and their supporters with the world's most sophisticated telecommunications equipment and encryption technology, thereby compromising America's ability to trace terrorist radio, cell phone, land lines, faxes and modem communications.

I will not be appeasedwith pointless, quick retaliatory strikes like those perfected by the previous administration.

I will not be comforted by "feel-good, do nothing" regulations like the silly, "Have your bags been under your control?" question at the airport.

I will not be influenced by so called,"antiwar demonstrators" who exploit the right of _expression to chant anti-American obscenities.

I will not forget the moral victory handed the North Vietnamese by American war protesterswho reviled and spat upon the returning soldiers, airmen, sailors and marines.

I will not be softenedby the wishful thinking of pacifists who chose reassurance over reality.

I will embrace the wise words of Prime Minister Tony Blair who told the Labor Party conference, "They have no moral inhibition on the slaughter of the innocent. If they could have murdered not 7,000 but 70,000, does anyone doubt they would have done so and rejoiced in it?

There is no compromise possible with such people, no meeting of minds, no point of understanding with such terror. Just a choice:defeat it or be defeated by it. And defeat it we must!"

I will forcemyself to: -hear the weeping;

-feel the helplessness; -imagine the terror;

-sense the panic ;-smell the burning flesh

- experience the loss; - rememberthe hatred.

I sat in a movie theater, watching "Private Ryan" and asked myself, "Where did they find the courage?" Now I know.

We have no choice. Living without liberty is not living. -- Ed Evans, MGySgt., USMC (Ret.)

Keep this going until every living American has read it and memorized it so we don't make the same mistake again.

The whole TRUTH!
Time we stop the Media from running this country!!

And furthermore Mr Moore, if you made so much CASH on your movies, get a real email address instead of a n AOL one. LOL

Woah Tony, there's a lot of stuff there that you won't forget!! I agree Michael Moore is a loser alright though!

ALL media is against Bush? I find it hard to believe that everyone in the media business is a Democrat - I'm sure there are lots of Republicans in there somewhere... why don't they show their side of the story if the others are wrong? All I keep hearing about is "Liberal Media" - well, why don't they stop talking about it & show the proof they have that all the 'liberal media' all wrong? Personally, I could really care less either way because I think ALL political television is extremely Boring, & totally not for me... (I'd rather watch my sitcoms or our local News12! LOL) But I think that if someone keeps saying that something is wrong... they would do something to show otherwise to prove their point. I never see anything out there by the 'non-liberals' - Oh well, Rudy is my Repub. guy in 08'

Oh you better beleive it. Its quite unbeleivable Janelle, really. All of the large networks like CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, LA TIMES, NY Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Chicago Sun are all severely liberal driven media. The only one that is down the center is FOX News.

Faux news is just Faux.

Fox news is the piss take of the USA as far as the rest of the world cares.

I particularly dislike the way that it portrays everyone as you guys v our guys and never ever reports the facts when they happen. I watch all the news channels from all over the world and Faux news has to be the most Biased and full of spin zone that it promotes its not !

If you want real news then watch the BBC News 24 for A NO SPIN ZONE........

You will never find a gung ho attitude on the BBC and they dont say stuff like The bad Guys V the good guys. If they do drag some ex squaddie out of the past, they will not say stuff like Hey, heres a couple of good guys for ya !!!

Bill O reilly is a sad git with a bad attitude.

Tony, if you & I weren't already married, I'd ask you out & kiss you in a very PDA!!! We are more than blessed to have your voice on-screen. You're the adult version of Pay It Forward. Keep it up my friend. xoxo...j
